Sprint Fiber Operations Group, Tacoma Fiber-Optic Staging Area, Tacoma, WA

The Tacoma Fiber-Optic Staging Area required build out of an 11,000 square foot cold shell facility on an accelerated schedule. The facility needed to be occupied by February 1, 2002, although plans were not approved until mid December. The Sprint Project Manager was Karen Hand, managing a construction budget of $275,000. Summit PDS streamlined the construction schedule to 5 weeks, allowing Sprint personnel to occupy the new space and operations to commence by February 1. Construction included complete build out, HVAC and fire system installation, electrical upgrades, and tenant finish.
